Part TMC80K-4D00U is the dust box spring for the Panasonic 1050 and 1060. It is a tension spring rather than a structural part, and its whole job is to keep the dust box pressed into its seat so the latch has something to work against.

Springs fail quietly. The box starts to rattle in the housing while the vacuum runs, then it stops clicking home cleanly, and eventually it sits proud of its seat with a gap along the seal. Dust escapes at that gap instead of staying in the box, and a fine grey line building up around the opening is usually how owners realise something has let go.

Fitting the new spring is quick, but look at the latch and the seat while you are in there. A chewed latch will chase the same symptom straight back.
