Product details
Sanitaire's 5810A Lite Speed upright, also sold under the Eureka name, carries part 72076C9 as its lower body, with the running wheels already mounted rather than sold as a bare housing on its own.
A base assembly is the part of a commercial upright that takes every impact the machine collects at floor level, which is why these are usually retired from damage rather than from age. The damage traces back to the machine meeting a doorway edge or a stair nosing at speed, and once the shell has lost its shape the parts carried in it no longer sit where they were meant to.
That matters most for how the nozzle meets the floor. A distorted housing stops the brush roll contacting carpet evenly across its width, which shows as one side of a pass looking cleaner than the other, or as a machine that pulls to one side even with a sound motor and a good roller.
Fitting the replacement is simpler here than with a bare housing, because the wheels arrive already mounted and nothing has to be carried across from the old part. Check that the machine sits level and rolls straight once it is back together.
