This is a genuine Eureka belt guard, the protective cover that shields the drive belt and brushroll pulley on Eureka upright vacuum cleaners. It keeps carpet fibers, cords, and fingers away from the moving belt while helping route the belt cleanly between the motor shaft and the brushroll.
A missing or broken belt guard exposes the belt to snags and premature wear and can let debris wrap the drive area. Replacing it protects the belt, keeps the brushroll spinning true, and restores the safe enclosure the cleaner was built with.
