Onboard tools only stay onboard if something holds them there. This clip and tool holder, part 54610, is the moulded retainer that grips the attachments on the Eureka and Sanitaire SL3681A upright and keeps them stowed against the machine while you work.
Plastic retainers are usually the first thing to go on a hard-working upright. The arms lose their spring, a tab snaps, and the crevice tool starts dropping off in the middle of a job. Most people notice because a tool has gone missing rather than because they inspected the clip. A fresh holder restores the tension so attachments push in and stay put between rooms.
This is a replacement holder for the SL3681A in either Eureka or Sanitaire badging. Press it fully onto its mounting point so it seats squarely before you load the tools back on.
