Eureka Furniture Guard Clip...

Product details
A furniture guard wraps the nozzle of an Eureka or Sanitaire upright to take the impact that would otherwise land on baseboards, table legs and door frames, and a small clip on its underside is all that keeps that guard seated. Part 25666SAN is that clip, covering the C4046B, C4046D, C4046E, C4046F and C4046F1, the C4047A and HE4046A, plus the SC899G, under the Eureka and Sanitaire names alike.
When the clip snaps, the guard rarely falls off all at once. One corner lifts first, and that lifted corner is usually what starts catching on furniture instead of shielding it, with the ongoing snagging finishing the job of tearing the rest of the guard free within a few more passes. Once the guard is gone entirely, the bare plastic nozzle shell becomes what actually contacts furniture and walls, a far harder edge than the guard was ever meant to allow.
It is a low-cost part with a disproportionate effect on how a room looks after cleaning, particularly in offices and other spaces where scuffed woodwork gets noticed quickly by tenants or clients.
Because the clip sits low, close to the floor and out of easy sight during a normal walk-around, a lifted or missing guard is more often noticed from the resulting furniture scuffs than from inspecting the vacuum itself, which makes it an easy failure to overlook until the damage is already done.
- Fits: Eureka and Sanitaire C4046B, C4046D, C4046E, C4046F, C4046F1, C4047A, HE4046A, SC899G
- Part: 25666SAN furniture guard clip
- Function: secures the furniture guard to the nozzle
- Symptom: guard lifting at one edge or catching on furniture, guard missing entirely
- Tip: inspect the guard itself for splitting or stretching while the clip is off, since a worn clip and a worn guard often show up together
