Five wire nuts to a package, part 601921, sized for the twist-on splices used inside Sanitaire and Eureka commercial upright wiring.
These are effectively consumables. Opening the cord connections, the switch wiring, or the motor leads for any repair means undoing an existing splice, and a connector that has already been opened rarely clamps as firmly the second time around. A loose splice inside a running vacuum is not a minor issue: it builds heat, produces the intermittent cut-outs people usually blame on the switch, and poses a real risk in a machine running for hours at a stretch.
Unplug the machine before touching any wiring, and check your model against the list below first.
Keep a small stock of these on hand rather than buying one at a time, since almost any cord, switch or motor job on these machines opens at least one splice that needs a fresh connector to close back up correctly.
