Product details
Extraction shampoo from Stainex, part 70701-04S, sold by the gallon for use in carpet extraction machines. It is a concentrate meant to be diluted with water in the extractor's solution tank rather than used at full strength.
Extraction shampoo does two things a plain water rinse does not: it carries a surfactant that lifts soil out of the fiber so the extractor's vacuum stroke can pull it back out, and it rinses with less residue than a heavier detergent, which matters because leftover residue in carpet attracts new dirt faster than clean fiber does.
Follow the dilution ratio printed on the container rather than guessing. Too strong leaves the residue behind that the shampoo is meant to avoid, and too weak leaves soil in the fiber that another pass will not lift.
Store the container capped and out of direct sun between uses. Concentrated cleaning chemicals lose potency gradually with heat and light exposure, and a shampoo that has weakened in storage needs a stronger dilution than the label originally called for to do the same job.
