The SEBO AUTOMATIC X4 takes a black liner at its cord pass-throughs, and 5359SW1 supplies exactly one of them. It is the single-unit listing of the same component sold ten to a bag, so it suits the repair where one liner has failed while the rest are still soft and still gripping their panels.
Few people keep one in a drawer. The part becomes relevant at the moment a machine is already stripped for other work and the old liner turns out to have hardened and broken into halves inside the opening. Fitted, it gives the cable a rounded rubber surface to lie against. Missing, the cable bears on the raw rim of the hole, and the ordinary flexing of a vacuum in use draws the outer sheath over that rim in one fixed place until it wears thin. None of this is visible from outside the machine, which is why it usually comes to light during an unrelated strip-down rather than as a complaint of its own.
Check the finish before ordering, because SEBO moulds this liner in more than one colour for different housings and black is the one specified here. Bags of ten in black carry the number 5359SW. Take the plug out of the wall before touching any part of the cord run, and with the panel open, run a finger along the neighbouring length of cable feeling for the polished flat band that says the jacket has been rubbing against something.
