SEBO Handle Catch for AUTOMATIC X4, X7 and X8 - Silver

Silver is the handle catch finish carried by the black-bodied AUTOMATIC X4 and by the larger X7 and X8 machines, and part 1859SB is the latch moulded in that colour. SEBO lists it at position 29 in the AUTOMATIC X7/X8 parts diagram. The catch works on the handle tube, holding the upright at its cleaning angle and locking it back vertical when the machine is parked.

This is a wear part in the plainest sense. Two small plastic faces take the load every time the handle is dropped or raised, thousands of times over the life of the machine. When they finally chip, or the tab loses its grip, the handle either falls forward on its own or will not latch upright at all, and a vacuum that will not stand up is both awkward to store and unpleasant to steer. Changing the catch is a much smaller job than the symptom suggests.
