Part 48416036 is an 18-inch brush roll for the Hoover Conquest upright, fitting the U7071 along with the C1800, C1810, C1810010, C1810020 and C1815.
As bristles wear down, the roller loses its reach into the carpet pile and cleaning turns shallow, picking up surface litter while leaving embedded dirt and pet hair behind. Wound hair and an uneven bristle pattern along the length of the roll are both signs it has reached the end of its service life, and either one on its own is enough reason to plan a swap before the other gets worse. An 18-inch roll like this one covers more width per pass than a narrower roller, so uneven wear across its length is easier to spot by eye than it would be on a shorter unit.
While the roller is already out for service, it is worth checking belt condition too, since both parts see similar wear under regular use and a fresh roller spinning against a stretched belt will not deliver the pickup it should.
