Hoover's mode control kit in Dark Billowy Blue, part 410037001, for the FH40010, FH40010B, FH40010TV, FH40010TVC and FH40030 floor cleaners. It carries the selector you use to set what the machine does as you push it.
What fails here is usually not the plastic you can see. The selector stops holding its position: it drifts under vibration, or feels vague through the whole travel, and the cleaner ends up doing one thing regardless of where the control is set.
