The recovery tank lid assembly for Hoover FH40010 series hard floor cleaners, part 410022001. It fits the FH40010, FH40010B, FH40010TV, FH40010TVC and FH40030.
The recovery tank holds the dirty water the machine lifts back off the floor, and the lid is what keeps it there and keeps the vacuum path sealed. When it cracks, warps, or the gasket hardens with age, two things happen at once: the tank dribbles down the machine and across the floor you have just cleaned, and lift drops away because air is coming in through the lid rather than through the nozzle.
Clean the gasket seat before fitting the new lid. Dried detergent film on the rim will hold a new gasket just far enough off the tank to leak, and you will be back looking at the same puddle.
