Blue marks the Rapid Flex cuff in the Hide A Hose lineup. Part HS5000H5 measures 1-3/8 inches and fits the Rapid Flex hose only, the version that runs without a hose sock, while the SmartSoc hose takes the black 1-1/4 inch cuff instead. The two do not swap.
This cuff does two jobs at once. It connects the hose to a Ready Grip Direct Connect handle and lets tool kit accessories push straight on without a coupler in between, and it acts as the stop that catches the hose at the right point as it retracts into the valve. A hose should never be retracted with the cuff missing for that second reason alone.
If a cuff has backed off the hose rather than cracked, screw it back in counterclockwise until it seats firmly against the hose end. Where the hose end itself has been chewed up, trim two to three inches off with scissors and fit the cuff onto fresh material.
The cuff also accepts one or two o-rings, sold as the HS500122 ten pack, which add friction where the valve door closes onto it. Fit no more than two, since additional rings change how the door meets the hose end, and add them only when the door has started closing loosely rather than as a matter of course.
