Behind the outer panelling of an ESSENTIAL G4 or G5 sits the internal cover, catalogued as 51115HG and supplied complete in light gray. It is an inner moulding rather than a cosmetic one, so it tends to go unnoticed until something else is stripped down around it.
Inner mouldings crack at their fixing points, usually after a heavy fall or after being refitted with the screws driven too hard into plastic that has already been in and out a few times. Once a boss has split, the cover no longer sits down evenly and the panels around it stop lining up, which is how a machine ends up with a rattle nobody can locate. Because this one is listed complete, the replacement drops in as a finished item instead of a shell that needs hardware carried over from the broken part.
