Kirby's stiff-bristle brush roll for the DE/AV2 platform, part 152505S, is the aggressive option. Firmer bristles reach further into carpet pile and take more dirt out per pass, and this roll fits the Avalir Platinum and the Sentria.
Bristle stiffness is what does the cleaning, and it is the first thing to go. A roll that still looks full can have bristles soft enough that they brush the pile rather than flexing it, and the tell is carpet that looks vacuumed but does not look renewed: no lift in the nap, grit still there when you run a hand across it.
Pick this roll for cut pile and medium carpet rather than for delicate rugs. Clear wrapped hair from the ends regularly, since hair binding at the bearings will finish a good roll faster than the bristles wear out.
