Part 173801S is the upper cord hook for the Kirby Ultimate G, in gray. It is the top of the two anchor points the power cord wraps around on the handle fork.
The upper hook takes the worst of it, because the cord is normally pulled off downward and from the top. The plastic fatigues at the base and breaks, and once it does the cord will not stay wrapped: it slides off in the closet, trails across the floor while you clean, and ends up under the nozzle. Cords are damaged more by being run over than by anything else, so a missing hook is a real cost rather than a cosmetic one.
It fits the Ultimate G and the Diamond Edition. Take the chance to look over the cord jacket for nicks while it is unwrapped.
