Product details
Kirby part 190484 is the top half of the disposable bag adaptor for the Heritage II, and it also covers the Heritage II Legend and the Legend II. It is the piece the paper bag collar mounts into at the top of the bag assembly, and together with the bottom half it clamps the collar so all the air has to travel through the bag.
Being handled at every bag change is what finishes it. The plastic cracks around the collar seat or a retaining feature snaps, and from then on the bag sits loose or crooked. What you notice is dust settling inside the outer cloth bag and suction that has fallen off even with a new bag fitted.
Hairline cracks in this part are hard to spot, so inspect the collar seat closely rather than assuming the bag itself is the problem.
