This genuine Kirby front wheel axle and bracket covers the Classic era through the Legend II: the Classic 1CR, Classic Omega 1CB, Classic III 2CB, Tradition 3CB, Heritage I, Heritage II, Heritage II Legend and Legend II. Part 131670S measures exactly 12 inches and carries a locating groove on the shaft near the pedal.
The front axle takes the whole weight of the machine at the point where it is levered up and down all day. Bent shafts and worn bracket ends leave the front wheels leaning, make the vacuum drift as you push it, and let the nozzle sit unevenly on the carpet so one side cleans better than the other.
Check the 12-inch length and the groove position against your old axle before ordering, since Kirby used a longer shaft on later machines and the two are easy to confuse.
