This genuine belt lifter body casting (Part #144079) is the main body of the belt lifter mechanism on the Kirby Tradition and Tradition 3CB. The lifter lets you disengage the brush roll for bare-floor cleaning.
When the casting cracks or its pivot points wear out, you lose the ability to switch between carpet and bare-floor modes and the brush roll may stay engaged when you do not want it. Installing the genuine casting restores full belt lifter function and crisp mode switching. Solid pivot points are what keep the mechanism working smoothly over years of use.
