Part 556201 is the rear wheel used on Kirby's Gen 7 machines, the Diamond Edition and the Ultimate G. It carries the back of the vacuum on the axle and sets the rear ride height, which is what holds the nozzle at the right attitude to the carpet.
Wheels go flat-spotted, crack around the hub, or wear oval after years of being dragged over thresholds. You feel it as a machine that pulls to one side, judders as it rolls, or sits low at one corner, and on hard floors a worn wheel can start marking the finish. Changing them in pairs keeps the machine tracking straight.
This wheel fits the Kirby Diamond Edition and Ultimate G. Slide it onto the axle and check it spins freely before securing it.
