Product details
Power crosses the neck joint on every G Series upright, and the male contacts carrying it have to stay exactly where they were set. Part 2883UL is the holder that positions them through the swivel neck on the SEBO ESSENTIAL G1, ESSENTIAL G2, ESSENTIAL G4 and ESSENTIAL G5.
That joint articulates every time the handle is reclined for a run under furniture and stands up again at the end of it, which is why the holder earns its keep — it has to hold the contact faces in register through thousands of those movements. Once the body cracks or its locating features wear, the contacts sit shallow or go slack, and the classic result is brush power that cuts in and out as the handle moves while the suction motor carries on without interruption. A brush that dies only in one part of the handle's travel is the same fault told a different way. Left alone, a poor contact arcs, and arcing burns the mating faces so a simple plastic part turns into a bigger repair.
Unplug the machine before the neck is opened, and while it is apart look over the mating contacts for pitting or burning and check the leads for chafe. The neighbouring parts are swivel neck bearing 2825, swivel neck support 2824 on the right hand side and 5479 on the left, handle cable 5298ER, and on the electrical side ribbon cable 0864 with PCB power supply 2890ER. Searches that arrive here include SEBO contact holder, ESSENTIAL G swivel neck contacts, and G series brush cutting out when handle moves.
