A 12-inch white polishing pad in fine polyester, cut for the Orbitor floor machine and ordered as part 401212. White is the softest pad in the sequence: it is meant for burnishing and polishing a floor that is already clean, not for cutting finish off one that is not.

Pads fail in two ways. They mat down, losing the open structure that lets them work lightly and evenly, and they load with residue until they drag and streak instead of leaving a shine. Either shows up as a floor that looks good on some passes and patchy on others.

Run white after a scrub and rinse, keep polishing pads stored away from your scrub and strip pads so they do not pick up stripped finish, and replace once the surface has glazed over.
