Two boards share the electrical work inside a G Series upright, and 2890ER is the supply side of that pair, shipped with its ribbon cable already attached. It covers the SEBO ESSENTIAL G1, ESSENTIAL G2, ESSENTIAL G4 and ESSENTIAL G5, and SEBO records the PCB power supply at position 113 on the ESSENTIAL G4/G5 sheet.
Ribbon connectors are the fragile link in this kind of assembly. The conductors are thin, the connector is a friction fit, and a cable that has been flexed once too often or seated slightly off will produce a board that looks completely dead while testing fine on the bench. Having the cable in the box takes that second failure point out of the repair, so a machine that has gone unresponsive, that loses one function while keeping another, or that behaves differently depending on how the housing is squeezed, does not have to be opened twice.
Pull the plug from the wall first, note which way round the ribbon sits at both ends, and press it fully home before the covers go back on — a ribbon half seated will pass a quick test and fail a week later. On the ESSENTIAL G1 and G2 the controller board that works alongside it is stocked separately as 2881ER, the neck contact holder is 2883UL, the loose ribbon cable is 0864, switch 05113 and power cord 5450DG round out the electrical chain.
