SEBO Pile Adjustment Knob f...

Product details
The height mechanism on a G Series upright is mostly hidden; the knob is the one part of it a hand ever finds. Part 2862HG replaces that knob on the SEBO ESSENTIAL G1, ESSENTIAL G2, ESSENTIAL G4 and ESSENTIAL G5 in the factory light gray, so the repair does not leave an odd-colored control on an otherwise matched machine.
Turning the knob rotates the pile adjustment axle and drops or lifts the nozzle for deep pile, low pile or a hard floor. All of that load passes through the knob's hub, and hubs split at the hub long before the linkage under them wears out. A cracked one turns freely without moving anything, leaving the machine stuck on whichever setting it was last on — brush buried and hard to push on a thick rug, or riding too high and not touching the pile at all. The other giveaway is a knob that has gone soft and vague, where the indexed clicks that used to mark each setting can no longer be felt.
Fitting a new knob restores positive, indexed selection and does not require the rest of the assembly to be disturbed. If the feel is still wrong afterwards, the pressure behind it is the next thing to look at: thrust member 2833 sits directly behind this knob, spring 2867 loads the axle, clamp 2856 keeps that spring captive, and the axle itself is 2861. Pile adjustment wheel 5174HG is the matching light gray part at the other end of the mechanism.
