SEBO 5786AM is the dark blue power head cover for the AUTOMATIC X4, and the drawing marks it item 100 with a note that the assembly takes items 101 to 103 with it. Read against the same sheet, that run covers the exhaust filter catch, the recess it works in, and the exhaust filter cover — pieces catalogued on their own in this finish as 5712DB and 5711DB. In other words the shell and the exhaust bay it forms arrive together as one moulded assembly rather than as a bare top panel.

The head runs lower than any other part of the machine, so it takes the impacts. Fractures start from a mounting boss, where the wall section is at its thinnest, and travel outward until the chamber is no longer held closed and the trim around it stops lying flat. By then two things have gone: the rigidity that holds the roller true between its bearings, and the seat the rear exhaust panel latches onto. That combination is why a broken cover repays replacing rather than taping, since neither problem stays put once the head has started to flex.
