Dark blue is the finish on this power head shell, ordered as part 52122DBSE for the SEBO AUTOMATIC X8. It is the moulding you see and handle, and underneath it closes over the drive belt, the gearing and the wiring that crosses the head. The exhaust filter cover is a separate item and does not come with it.

Shells get replaced after impact damage, or once the clips holding them down have fatigued and let go. One that no longer pulls tight leaves a gap along the seam for grit to reach the drive, and the head loses rigidity in exactly the place you push against when you lean on the handle. It is worth treating as a repair rather than a cosmetic job for that reason: the cover is doing structural work as well as carrying the colour. The replacement is moulded and coloured to match the original finish, so a machine repaired with a mismatched shell can be put back to standard.

SEBO builds a whole dark blue parts range for this machine, which matters when only half of a repair is visible. The matching exhaust filter cover is 52029DB, the right-hand brush roller release button is 52034DB and the left-hand release knob is 52224DB. The dust bag housing in the same finish is 51050DBUL and its bumper base is 51002DB. Anyone rebuilding a knocked-about machine can order the visible parts as a set rather than ending up with a patchwork.
