Seventeen-inch tufted pad driver, part 717DP, shipped as a complete assembly: the 1-1/4 riser and the UP2P clutch plate both come with it, so there is no separate coupling to order before the driver can go on the machine.
The tufts are what hold the pad. A tufted face keeps the pad flat and stops it walking out from under the driver at the edge of the cut, which is where a smooth-faced driver normally lets go. Match the driver to the pad size the machine is set up to run rather than to the deck.
