A felt blade is the strip that runs along the sole of a wide floor tool, letting the tool glide on a hard surface and sweep fine dust toward the suction slot instead of scattering it ahead. This is the 14 inch felt blade for ProTeam floor tools, part 100145, sold as a replacement for a strip that has compressed, torn, or worn through to the tool body.

The signs are easy to read once you know them. The tool chatters or drags on tile, a fine line of dust is left behind on each pass, and the leading edge starts marking polished floors. Felt is a consumable; on a machine used daily it wears out long before the tool does.
