The bulkhead is a structural moulding in the body of a ProForce 1500 upright, tying the major assemblies together and holding their alignment. Part 104245 replaces it once it has cracked, which usually happens after a machine has been dropped down a flight of stairs or tipped hard onto a floor.
A broken bulkhead shows up as flex and rattle. The handle no longer feels solid in relation to the base, panels sit slightly out of line, and fasteners near the break work loose because the plastic around them is moving. Left alone, the crack spreads and takes neighboring mounting points with it.
Replacing it is a good deal cheaper than retiring an upright that otherwise runs well. It fits the ProTeam ProForce 1500 and ProForce 1500 HEPA, and the Electrolux commercial uprights U136B, U129B Xtreme and U139A Xtreme Plus.
