Rear axle clamp for upright vacuums built on the newer metal handle chassis, sold as part 54.136. The clamp is the small bracket that captures the rear axle in the base housing, holding the wheels square to the body so the machine tracks straight and the nozzle keeps the height it was set to.
When one of these cracks or works loose, the symptom is usually a wobble or a wheel sitting out of line rather than an obvious break. It is worth checking any time an upright starts leaning to one side as it is pushed across carpet.
