Part B350-4000B is the external retaining ring for the height adjustment mechanism in the nozzle of Riccar Radiance and Simplicity Synergy uprights, covering the RAD and RADP builds on the Riccar side and the G9 and X9 on the Simplicity side.
A retaining ring is a small part with an outsized job. It locks the height adjust shaft into its housing, and when it fatigues or is lost during a service the adjuster works loose, the nozzle stops holding its selected pile height and the brushroll ends up sitting too high or digging in. Rings of this type are cheap enough that they are worth replacing rather than refitting any time the nozzle is opened up.
