Part B350-8514 is the black nozzle inlet for the swivel neck on Riccar and Simplicity power nozzles. It is the short duct that takes air from the neck and passes it into the nozzle body, sitting directly behind the swivel joint.

Being the first hard surface the airflow meets after the turn, the inlet takes the abrasion from grit and is also where hair and thread collect. A worn or cracked one loses sealing pressure against the neck, and that shows up as lost airflow down at the carpet.
