Product details
Core Products lists part HWE-640 as the 128 ounce gallon size of its New Generation Hot Water Extract, a carpet cleaning concentrate the company describes as specially formulated for today's steam type hot water extraction cleaning machines. Core publishes it as non-foaming and free rinsing, and safe to use on synthetic or wool carpets, with a pH range of 7.0 to 8.0.
Non-foaming is the part that matters in an extractor. The machine sprays diluted solution into the carpet and pulls it straight back out into a recovery tank, and foam in that path fills the tank with air instead of water. Free rinsing covers the other half of the job: the detergent lets go of the fiber rather than staying behind once the water is drawn out.
Core publishes three mixing rates rather than one. Light soils take 1 ounce to a gallon and a half of water, normal soils 1 ounce per gallon, and heavy soils 2 to 4 ounces per gallon. Stay at or under the heavy soil rate, because a concentrate mixed stronger than directed puts more detergent into the carpet than the recovery pass pulls back out, and what stays in the fiber attracts dirt faster once the carpet dries. Store the gallon capped, out of direct sun and away from freezing, and test any carpet chemical you have not used before on a small hidden section first.
