Part A224-0600 is the dust cover spring for the Simplicity 7000 Series, and it also fits the CleanMax ZM800 and Titan T500. The spring supplies the tension that holds the dust cover shut and lets it pop open when it is time to change the bag.
When this spring weakens, the cover sags, will not latch fully, or refuses to snap back closed after a bag change. Because the spring is small and hidden inside the cover mechanism, it is easy to blame the cover itself or the bag hardware first, when the spring is often the actual cause.
With a fresh spring seated in place, the cover shuts firmly again and stays closed through normal use rather than working itself loose. Check this spring first whenever the dust cover on one of these machines will not stay shut, before assuming the cover itself is broken.
