SEBO Switch Rod for 300 and...

Product details

A spongy, uncertain feel when you work the switch on a SEBO 300 Mechanical or 350 Mechanical usually points at the linkage rather than the switch body itself. Part 50371ER is the switch rod that carries your input from the control through to the switch, and it is the first thing to rule out before anyone starts pulling electrical assemblies apart.

The rod is a slender mechanical link, and the failures it suffers are mechanical too. It can bow slightly under repeated pressure, wear at the points where it bears on its guides, or work free of its seat at one end. Any of those shortens the travel that actually reaches the switch. The machine then wants a second press to start, or cuts out when it is jostled against furniture, or feels as though the switch is halfway between positions. Because the electrical side is often perfectly healthy, a rod fault is easy to misdiagnose as a dead switch. A straight replacement rod re-establishes a solid path from your thumb to the contacts, so one press does one thing.

Unplug the machine before you start and note how the rod is seated at both ends before it comes out, since it only works properly when it sits in its original orientation. If the switching side genuinely has failed, the assembly for these machines is 50443UL, and the switch itself is 05112ER; the power switch button is 50306OR and the cord is 501843.
