ProTeam's one-bend chrome tapered wand, part 100136, measures 54 inches and steps down from a 1-1/2 inch fitting at the hose end to a 1-1/4 inch fitting at the tool end. That taper is what lets a standard 1-1/2 inch ProTeam hose drive smaller tools, a 1-1/4 inch turbo brush among them, with no separate reducer in between.
The single bend does the other half of the work. It sets the tool angle for floor cleaning without adding a second joint that could work loose, so there is one less connection to check when suction goes soft. Both ends are friction fit, which keeps the wand quick to swap between tools but leaves it to the operator to seat each joint fully.
That is where most of the trouble comes from. A wand left slightly proud of the hose cuff leaks at the joint, and a tool that has not been pushed the whole way onto the wand end leaks in exactly the same manner, so a drop in suction that seems to come from nowhere is worth chasing at both couplings before anything further upstream is suspected.
