A CanSweep automatic dustpan needs a wall or toe-kick cutout bigger than the valve body itself, leaving room behind it to make the pipe connection. Part 845621BLK is the black trim plate that covers that oversized cutout once the valve is in place.
Because it faces the room rather than the airflow, this part gets replaced for how it looks rather than how it performs: a crack from getting bumped down at floor height, a patch worn pale where a mop or vacuum head drags across it repeatedly, or simply a missing plate after cabinetry or flooring work disturbs the toe-kick. Black sits well against dark cabinetry, and a white plate is stocked separately for lighter toe-kicks and baseboards.
Buying the trim plate alone does not include the CanSweep dustpan valve behind it; this listing covers the visible trim only, not the mechanism that opens when debris is swept toward it.
Swapping it does not touch the valve or any pipework behind it: release the fasteners or clips holding the old plate, lift it clear, and press the new one into place the same way. Wipe the surrounding surface before fitting the replacement so grit does not get trapped behind it and telegraph through the finish, and check the old plate against this one for size if the installation is not one you put in yourself.
