Product details

Part 775590A is an almond-colored Vaculine VacuValve inlet door, the wall opening you push a hose into on a central vacuum system. This version is built for low-voltage signaling, meaning contacts inside the door close a small signal circuit the instant the hose cuff seats, and that signal is what tells the power unit to start, rather than the hose itself carrying line voltage the way an older direct-connect setup does.

Wall inlets take heavier daily use than any other component in a central vacuum system. They fail in two separate ways. The gasket stiffens with age until the door no longer seats tightly, letting air leak into the pipe and dragging down suction at every other opening in the house, even ones far from this particular spot. Separately, the low-voltage contacts corrode or lose spring tension until the unit hesitates or needs a hose wiggle before it starts, a symptom that gets blamed on the power unit far more often than it deserves, since the unit is simply doing what a weak signal tells it to do.

  • Part: 775590A
  • Finish: almond
  • Signal type: low voltage

Choose the almond finish against cream, tan, and off-white trim rather than stark white walls. It is cataloged as a low-voltage replacement door for Canplas Hayden Vaculine inlet valves. Before ordering, confirm your system runs low-voltage inlets rather than direct-connect electric ones, since the two rely on different internal contacts and will not swap for each other even though they look nearly identical from outside the wall.

A screwdriver is the only tool most homeowners need to swap the door themselves, and since the low-voltage contacts simply reconnect to the same leads the old door used, no wiring changes are required.
