Part HS5000R is the rough-in kit for the HS5000 line of Hide-A-Hose retractable valve, installed in the wall cavity before drywall closes it in. It sets the pipe connection and the mounting position the finished HS5000 inlet will attach to once the room is done.

The kit covers that whole stage: a rough-in frame, the rough-in pipe fitting, a reducer, a mud cover to keep the opening protected while the wall is finished, and four screws for that cover. Note that it does not include a retainer band, which the older HS3000 and HS4000 rough-in kit does carry.

Since correcting a rough-in after the wall is finished means reopening it, confirm pipe run, mounting depth, and stud spacing against your installation plan while the frame is still accessible. Check that the frame sits square in the opening too, since a crooked rough-in shows up later as trim that never quite sits flush.

This kit is specific to the HS5000 line and is not the same as the HS3000 and HS4000 rough-in or the 6000 PRO version. Confirm which valve you are installing before ordering, since this stage is far easier to get right the first time than to correct once the room is closed up.
