Product details

This is a complete Vaculine wall inlet valve in white, part 775590W, the fitting a central vacuum hose plugs into at the wall. Canplas lists it in the VacuValve line of its Vaculine catalog, and it ships as the full assembly, faceplate and hinged door together, not as a loose replacement door.

The valve is the low-voltage style with a vertical-opening door. Seating a hose in the opening closes the contact circuit that starts the power unit, and dealer listings describe it accepting standard, low-voltage, and pigtail electric hoses, which is what makes it a common universal choice when an older inlet of uncertain brand needs replacing. The door covers the opening whenever no hose is connected, keeping the system's air seal intact and keeping dust, insects and drafts out of the wall opening.

A failing inlet is easy to miss because the system still runs fine from every other inlet in the house. The tells are a door that no longer sits shut flat, a hose that has to be wiggled before the unit starts, or a hiss of leaking air at one wall opening while the system runs, any of which can mean worn contacts or a door seal that has given up. Replacement is normally a matter of removing the mounting screws and transferring the two low-voltage wires to the new valve's terminals.

Vaculine molds this valve in white, almond, and black so a replacement can match the wall it sits on; this listing is the white version. Inlet hardware does vary between manufacturers and production eras, so compare this valve's mounting arrangement against your existing rough-in plate before ordering rather than matching by wall plate color alone.
