Part D475-0400 puts the belt idler and the hall sensor on one serviceable bracket for Riccar, Simplicity and Maytag Tandem Air uprights, covering Brilliance, Radiance, Synchrony and Synergy machines on the MV and PV chassis from the .7 revision onward.
The idler holds tension on the brush roll belt as it stretches with use. The hall sensor reads brush roll rotation, which is how these machines know the agitator has stopped turning. Since both ride on the same bracket, they are supplied and fitted together.
