Product details
The grooved belt for Bissell MultiClean and Lift-Off bagless uprights, part 1625646. Its ribbed inner face keys into the grooved brush roll rather than gripping by friction alone, so drive is positive and the roll holds its speed under load.
Belts stretch with heat and age whether the machine is worked hard or not. A stretched belt slips in the groove and the roll slows; a snapped one stops it dead. Either way the vacuum still pulls air, which is what makes the fault confusing — the machine sounds normal but leaves fibres and grit sitting in the carpet behind it.
This belt fits the Bissell 2849, 2852, 2998, 2999, 3000, 3057 and 3059. It runs with the grooved brush roll, part 1624041, and the two are best replaced together: a new belt on a worn roll will not hold drive for long.
