The separator assembly for Bissell MultiClean and Lift-Off bagless uprights, part 1624040. It sits inside the dirt tank and is the piece that spins the incoming air, throwing debris out to the wall of the tank so it drops rather than carrying on into the filter.
Separators clog and crack. Fine lint mats across the mesh, or a hairline split in the body lets dirty air take a shortcut past the cyclone entirely. Either way the filter behind it loads up in days instead of months, suction falls off fast after emptying, and the tank starts looking dusty on the clean side.
This assembly fits the Bissell 2849, 2852, 2998, 2999, 3000, 3057 and 3059. It drops into the tank in the original orientation — check the seal face and the tank rim for grit before refitting so it beds down properly.
