The micro exhaust filter for the Bissell PowerGlide 3545, part 2031009. The same filter covers a long list of related uprights, including the 1739, 3522, 3530, 3537, 3575, 3590, 46E5, 6592, the 71Y7 series and the 8900 and 8990.
Exhaust filters are the last thing between the motor and the room, and on a bagged upright they catch the very fine dust everything upstream has missed. They do not clog dramatically; they just get progressively denser until the machine is working against its own exhaust. The signs are a motor that sounds like it is straining, heat coming off the back of the machine, and a dusty smell on start-up.
Change it on a schedule rather than on appearance. By the time an exhaust filter looks bad it has been costing you suction for months.
