Driving dry cleaning powder down into carpet pile is mechanical work, and the rollers inside the SEBO Duo Machine are what perform it. Part number 3005ER is one of those rollers, sold singly, and SEBO's Duo parts drawing places it at position 27.

The drawing is worth following, because the Duo is a geared machine rather than a simple belt-and-roller one. The roller at 27 sits in the brush housing 3001HG at position 31, against the base plate 3002SW at position 28 and the right-hand bearing block 3010HG at position 30, and it is turned through the drive train laid out further down the sheet. That train is where the Duo catches people out: it carries two different drive belts, 3038 at position 37 and 3042 at position 54, both listed for the Duo Machine and neither a substitute for the other. Order a belt by its position number, not by the phrase drive belt.

Because the roller works against carpet rather than against air, its bristles wear steadily and predictably. Once they lose height and stiffness the powder stays on the surface of the pile and the deep-clean result goes with it, which is the usual reason a Duo starts to feel like it is only dusting. Fit a fresh roller when the rows look splayed or plainly shorter than they were, and check the ends for wound hair while the machine is open. The soft-filament equivalent of this roller is 3005W.
