A hose cuff is the molded collar on the end of the hose that locks into the machine, in this case the nozzle end on the Carpet Pro CPU2T. Ordered as part B625-0314, it also fits the Carpet Pro CPU1T and the Fuller Brush FBHD1T and FBPHD2T.
Cuffs are the first part of a hose to fail, because every flex and twist of the hose ends up concentrated where it meets the rigid collar. When the cuff splits or its tabs wear round, the hose no longer seats tight: it pulls out under its own weight, or it stays in and leaks air at the joint, which reads at the tool as a machine that has lost its suction.
Replacing the cuff is what saves the hose, which is by far the more expensive part.
