This is a genuine Eureka base hose assembly, the short flexible duct that connects the floor nozzle base to the upper airflow path on Eureka upright vacuum cleaners. It carries dirt-laden air from the brushroll housing up toward the bag or dust cup, flexing as the cleaner reclines and stands.
Base hoses crack, collapse, or clog with hair and debris over time, which weakens suction and can let the recline action pinch the airflow. Installing a fresh hose assembly reopens the airway and brings pickup back to full strength.
