Product details

The DCF-7 is the dust cup filter for the Sanitaire SL4410A upright, and part 2985 is the replacement. It sits in the filtration path ahead of the motor, catching the fine material that gets past the first stage before the air is exhausted back into the room.

A loaded DCF-7 is easy to diagnose by hand. The vacuum pulls hard for the first minute and then fades, the motor note climbs as it fights for air, and dust starts showing up on surfaces near the exhaust. Once the media has gone grey right through, washing will not bring the airflow back.

It drops into the same housing on the Eureka and Sanitaire SL4410A. Seat it fully so air cannot bypass around the edge, because a filter sitting proud of its seat filters nothing at all.
