Product details
Suction that fades at the tool despite a fresh bag and filter often traces to a leak in the canister body itself rather than anything inside it. Part 28008B3 replaces the rear housing on a Mighty Mite 3670, the back section of the shell that closes the canister body, for the Eureka and Sanitaire 3673A, SC3683D and SL3681A.
These canisters get dragged behind their hose all day, bumped into doorframes and pulled down stairwells, and the shell absorbs that wear directly. A crack there opens the seal, which is why a leaking canister loses suction at the tool regardless of how recently the bag and filter were changed. Broken mounting points are the other common casualty, and once the shell no longer clamps up tight the halves shift against each other and the machine develops a rattle as it is towed along.
Fitting the replacement puts a sealed, solid shell back in place in one piece, and it is worth looking over the inside of the canister while it is open, a shell that has been cracked for a while sometimes lets debris reach places a sealed body would have kept clear.
Confirm the model stamped on the canister before ordering, this housing is specific to the 3673A, SC3683D and SL3681A and does not carry over to every Eureka or Sanitaire canister body.
