A powerhead that dies when the hose is twisted and returns when it is straightened is describing its own fault. 8079ER is the wired hose neck for the AIRBELT D4 Premium, supplied complete with internal cable 8160 and drawn as item 31 on the AIRBELT D sheet.
One small moulding carries two services. It closes the hose against the machine so the airflow stays where it belongs, and it passes current out through the hose to the powerhead. Each side fails in its own way: conductors work-harden and fracture wherever the joint flexes, while the collar wears at the locking tabs until it loses grip. That is why the same part shows up as weak suction, a brush that refuses to turn, or both faults together on one machine. Supplying the neck ready wired removes any need to splice conductors inside a junction that moves every time the vacuum is used.
Before ordering, flex the hose near the canister with the machine running and watch how the powerhead reacts. A fault that follows movement at this end of the hose points here; one that follows movement up at the handle sits elsewhere in the circuit.
